Day 4! What an amazing Day!

After another lovely breakfast we met with Nick at the bus in our waterpoof gear as we were going ghyll scrambling! We drove up into Whinlatter Forest again and drove down to where the stream was. On our way we were very lucky as we saw some Alpacas! We made sure we all had our waterproofs on securely and then started walking up hill in the stream. Some of the water was a little deep so we gave each other warnings before we got to it. Some of the group were super helpers with their friends, pointing out good parts to walk on and helping to pull their friends up if they got stuck! It was great Team Work! There were a couple of big parts to climb up but everyone had a go! At the end there was a big dark tunnel with some fast water running out of it! Tyler was very brave and went through it - making Miss Hendy and Nick very wet! Joshua had a go but changed his mind and walked up the bank instead. Everyone challenged themselves in this activity and should be very proud of themselves! We all had a drink and sat in the sun for a bit before heading back to Calvert and getting dry. We had lunch and then got ready for our final activity - the high ropes!

Before we went on the high ropes, we went to put on our helmets and harnesses. This was important to keep us safe. We all went up to the high ropes course which has based at the Calvert site. Our challenge from our teachers was just to have a go - which we all did. Some people did half, some did all of it, and some did the more challenging part. Even the teachers had a go! We had a lovely time and we were proud of our achievements. 10G came to join us to have a go whilst a few of our group went to have a go on the zip wire. We cheered each other on and had a good chuckle and some of our reactions! Because we had been kind friends to 10G - they let us share some of their marshmallows that they were having as part of bush craft (aren't we lucky!)

Finally, it was time chat to Nick about our week. We all chose our favorite activities and said what we would like to do again. We then were all given a certificate with our names on. We all said thank you to Nick and gave him a big clap!

Next, we went to get ready for the disco and had our final tea at Calvert. It was pizza, fish or macaroni cheese. We then went to our final night activity - the disco! We had fun dancing, playing games and we even bought some treats from the shop!

We were all really tired when we finally went to bed. The next morning we went to have our final breakfast, finished packing and got on the bus. We headed back to school and were very lucky to have a McDonald's at school when we returned!

A fantastic week for the Barf group - Every single one of them challenged themselves and didn't give up! Well done Barf Group!
