7G participated in Rainbow day on Friday 14th Feb. We all wore different colours on that day.

The following week our class took part in a circle time where Miss Hendy read a story about a Picnic in the Park. The young boys birthday in the story had lots of different friends and family come to his picnic.

They all had different family types and as a class we talked about how all our families were different. Some of us talked about how our mums and dads don’t live together but we see them lots.  We also talked about how we have step parents and brothers and sisters too.  Some of us talked about how we live with our grandparents. Some of us talked about how we live with both our mum and dad.

In the story we learnt that some people might live with two mums, two dads, foster parents or adopted parents. We learnt that all families come in different shapes and sizes and that this is ok.

7G were very good when listening to the story and were very proud to talk about their families and share their experiences. Some children in 7G said that it doesn’t matter who you live with as long as you are happy.

Well done 7G for a lovely afternoon!
