Hello everybody,

It has been wonderful to see and hear more about your fantastic learning from home adventures.

Over the past two weeks your teachers in Oak have been working hard with the teachers from Maple to create learning from home videos for our YouTube channel, linking to our current theme ‘Holidays’. We hope you enjoy watching and joining in with these videos and spot some familiar faces!

Last week, Mrs Banks has shared with your parents a new feature on Purple Mash called ‘2Email’, so that you can communicate with your friends and class teachers – we have had some lovely emails already!

Learning from Home - Week 8 & 9:

  • Amir has continued practicing his physical skills and this week has been practicing his kicking and his jumping skills with his brother. Great work Amir and Ryan!

  • Ethan has been working hard with his writing and spelling and continued practicing his numbers. He has been practicing his physical skills too learning to play badminton with his sister. Great work Ethan and Emilia! Ethan received a little treat this week – a colourful keyboard with big keys to help him typing on the computer. He has been working very hard with his sounds and his letter recognition, typing out words and writing messages on the computer and Purple Mash activities. He has been emailing his teachers on ‘2Email’ and even wrote Miss Cross a ‘Thank You Teacher’ letter. Brilliant work Ethan.

  • Josh has been working hard on Education City and Purple Mash too; completing number and letter activities! He has also been practicing his reading with Daddy and has done a great job sounding out the letters – Wow! Josh has also enjoyed some choose time on Minecraft, coding lots of different commands – Way to go Joshy!

  • Oliver has been helping mummy and daddy with their daily jobs including mowing the garden and mopping the floor! Oliver has enjoyed some well-deserved rest after his hard work too, choosing games outside and jigsaws! Super work Oliver!

  • Oscar has continued practicing his independence skills; washing his hands, cleaning his teeth and dressing himself! Great Work Oscar! He has been busy in the kitchen too; making lunch, baking a cherry cake and feeding his cat and dog. Oscar has also been busy with class learning activities practicing his fine motors skills cutting and sticking and drawing shapes! Super work Oscar!

  • Tig has been busy helping with jobs, practicing his reading, counting and independence skills. He has been helping put the washing away, choosing his own clothes and getting dressed by himself and had been matching all the odd socks to put away. Tig has even been baking cookies and cheesecake and had made his own pizza too – Yummy! Fantastic work Tig!

We are very proud of you for all your hard work at home, Miss Cross loved her ‘Thank You Teacher’ letter and it made her smile all day! Ethan received Star of the Week for working hard, carefully sounding out words to hear the letters he needed to spell words he was writing on the computer and Purple Mash. Keep working hard Ethan – your teachers are very proud!
