Welcome back to all pupils in 10G!

We hope you have all had a brilliant summer, but we are so pleased to see everyone for a new school year.

We have had a slight change to our staffing over the summer, Mrs Fisher is still the class teacher and Mrs Cobham continues as TA3. Big congratulations to Miss Patterson for gaining a promotion, she is now our TA2 in class. A big welcome to the Astley Park team to Miss Smith who is our new TA1. Miss Holliday will be covering in our class on a supply basis too.

What a busy week we’ve had! We wanted to ease everyone (staff as well as pupils) back into school life as gently as possible. We are all getting used to the new routines in 10G and everyone has had a fantastic week.

Another big welcome to Danny who has moved into 10G from 10R this year, he has fit into the class without any hitches and it’s like he has always been here. We are really pleased to have you with us, Danny!

Some of the activities we have taken part in this week are:

-Making our own sensory bottle

-Painting a rock ready to hide in our treasure hunt next week

-Starting to create our own song on GarageBand on the iPad

-Making our own placemats to be used at dinner time

-Reading our new class book “Our Class is a Family”

Congratulations to 10G’s Star of the Week this week: Danny! He was awarded Star of the Week for settling into his new class and for pushing himself out of his comfort zone and trying something new. Well done, Danny!

We also need to say “get well soon” to Lily who is at home at the moment, we are missing you Lily and we can’t wait to see you back in school soon. We hope you like your cards from all of your friends in 10G.

We have another week of settling in before getting stuck into our new Key Stage 4 curriculum. Mrs Fisher will be working with the 10G team to write new end of year outcomes and set new PLGs for pupils to work towards. Once these are finalised, Mrs Fisher will share these with you.

In the meantime, if you want to keep us updated with anything that your children have been doing whilst at home, feel free to use Evidence for Learning to upload any photos/videos so that we can see them in class.

Please keep an eye out for an email regarding contributions to snack and cooking.

Have a lovely weekend!

Mrs Fisher, Mrs Cobham, Miss Patterson, Miss Smith and Miss Holliday
