Last Friday the students from 7A had a really enjoyable cookery lesson making cakes and pizzas.

First of all we talked about the importance of hygiene before putting aprons on and washing our hands. We then looked at the ingredients and talked about how we could follow the written instructions to make the food.
We turned on the oven in readiness for the pizzas and then we split into two groups, one group made pizzas with Ms Lea while the other group made cornflake cakes with Miss Grant. Once the food was prepared we then swapped groups so that every student had the chance to make both the pizzas and the cakes.

It was fun to spread tomato purée onto the wraps before choosing from a variety of meats and peppers and then topping them with cheese. Each pizza wrap was placed in the oven for ten minutes and they came out looking golden and smelling wonderful.

The cakes were made by melting chocolate in a microwave and then mixing cornflakes in before putting spoonfuls into individual cake cases and popping them into the fridge to become firm.

We all took turns mixing, pouring and spreading and as well as being a fun lesson we also learnt a lot about taking turns and helping each other.

Later that afternoon we ate our own pizza and we all declared them to be yummy and a success.  We left the cakes in the fridge and we will take them home with us today.
