Hello again!

Here we are the end of half term and the beginning of Summer 2. I think that half term flew by far too quickly!! Hope you are all staying safe at home and enjoying this beautiful weather. I just want to start by saying a HUGE thank you to everyone who joined in with our 8G Sing and Sign video. I also need to say another HUGE thank you to Mrs Cobham who ever so kindly made us a video of the signs so that we could all learn them at home. We really appreciate all your effort, Mrs Cobham!

I hope you are pleased with the end result, you can see the video below:

I’ve updated Purple Mash and Education City again this morning so you will be able to find some new activities to try on there. I have also emailed out Week 6 and 7 activities to parents too.

Let’s see what everyone has been up to this week:

Mrs England:

Hi everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week off from your home learning and have enjoyed the sunshine. This week I’ve been on holiday too and we’ve been very busy. We took Toby to Pilling Sands last week; he loved chasing stones on the beach, but wasn’t so keen on the sea water when he tried to drink it!

We’ve been on lots of lovely long walks. we had to make sure we found some water for Toby so he could cool down, he just loves splashing about in the water.

We met Miss O Connell for a lovely social distancing walk in Ashfield Park in Standish. Her son has been practicing riding his bike so he showed us how good he was. We were all very proud of him.

We’ve been busy doing DIY too, painting and turning one of our rooms into a walk-in wardrobe. Jack has also built a woodshed in our garden to store all our logs for our fire pit.

Stay safe everyone, I’m missing you all.

Mrs England xx

Ben has been having a go at Mrs Crouch’s Playdoh Gym session on the YouTube channel with his sister, decorating delicious looking biscuits and putting potatoes in size order too. I spotted some work of Ben’s that I hadn’t seen before today: he has decorated his own Superhero slippers, drawn some items on the supermarket shelves and also designed an ice cream. Ben also took part in our Sing and Sign video this week. Love your dance moves, Ben!

Charlie has been making the most of the lovely weather and rightly so! He has been playing basketball in the garden and blowing his new bubbles, as well as cooling down in the paddling pool. Charlie took part in our Sing and Sign video too. Super singing, Charlie!

Mrs Down:

Hi all,

I've been busy in school the past two weeks, doing nature walks, making mini beast pebbles and helping to make cottage pies. At home I have been helping my sons with their schoolwork, and spent lots of time in the garden enjoying the sunshine (like Benjy!)

Daisy has been finishing off her Supertato themed activities this week. She has made a healthy lunchbox and has been making sentences about the pictures from the book. She’s also been dressing up as Super Daisy- her magical power is that she can fly (like she does on her swing at home) and that she has magic smiles that make everyone smile too. I think Daisy already has that magical power! Daisy has been looking after her seedlings, doing some yoga with Mum and lots of playing on her swing. Daisy has also been making delicious gingerbread men this week, I hope they tasted good. Daisy took part in our Sing and Sign video this week, accompanied by her Toy Story toys, super signing Daisy! Finally, I have found some wonderful work on Purple Mash that Daisy has completed- she has designed some superhero slippers, drawn food onto the supermarket shelves, filled her trolley with goodies from the supermarket, designed her own ice cream and designed a superhero cape too. Wow, super work Daisy!

Francesca has been having lots of fun at home this week. She has been playing with Dad and enjoying blowing her bubbles outside. Francesca has been working on her creative skills this week and has been painting a Shimmer and Shine model with her brother too. She has been doing lots of reading and enjoying writing as well. I’ve also found some work on Purple Mash that Francesca has been completing: she has designed some superhero slippers and a cape, and has drawn some items on the supermarket shelves too. Super work, Francesca!

Harrison took part in our Sing and Sign video this week and looks like he had lots of fun. A big thank you to Harrison’s Mum for joining in too! I love your Toy Story toys, Harrison!

Miss Aindow:

Hello 8G! I hope you are all staying safe. Over the last few weeks I have been doing lots of baking and cooking at home. I have made banana bread, fruit loaf, and quiche. I have been on lots of walks and enjoy seeing all the cows in the fields. I hope to see you all soon!

Jake has been helping to look after the chickens in his garden, blowing lots of bubbles and enjoying playing with his remote-control car. He has been shopping with Mum and has been going on lots of walks too. Jake took part in our Sing and Sign video this week and did some brilliant signing and singing. Well done, Jake!

Nicola has been in school again this week with Mrs Down, Miss Robertson and Mrs Devlin. She took part in our Sing and Sign video and has been keeping busy too- making cottage pie and banana split, planting cress seed “hair” and decorating pebbles to look like mini-beasts. Wonderful work, Nicola!

Rose has also been taking full advantage of this beautiful weather and has spent lots of time in the paddling pool in the garden. She’s been playing games outside and lots of barbeques for tea too. Rose took part in our Sing and Sign video, love your flossing Rose!

Skye has been playing on Education City at home, as well as practicing her writing. She also took part in our Sing and Sign video and did some brilliant singing and signing too, well done Skye!

Last but not least, it’s my turn. I’ve had a busy week at home making lots of videos to link with your activities this week. We found the drawing easel in the garage so Jenson and Jaxon have enjoyed drawing and writing on the whiteboard. We’ve had the paddling pool out again and eating lots of ice lollies too. We’ve enjoyed going for walks and bike rides together and learning how to play Uno. We also found some tadpoles at the pond in the park so we have been looking after those and keeping an eye on what they are doing in the bucket.

Thanks for all your photos this week. Me and Mrs Down are hoping to sort a video call out of the end of this week but we will let you know as soon as it is decided.

Have a wonderful week and stay safe,

Mrs Fisher, Mrs Down, Mrs England and Miss Aindow
