Hello everyone!

Here we all are again at the end of another week. Can you believe we’ve only got 5 more weeks until the summer holidays?!

You should have all received your activities for this week and next (week 8 and 9) that are all based around the book Green Eggs and Ham. We hope that you are enjoying trying some of the activities that take your fancy.

We’ve just had our fifth video call together, wasn’t Mrs Down’s game lots of fun? I hope that you all enjoyed seeing each other again. I do look forward to our video calls on a Friday, it’s so nice to see all your faces. Next Friday, I want to try something new and do a Kahoot quiz together! I will send more details of this in our weekly check-in email on Monday. End of year reports will also be shared with you via Evidence for Learning on Monday, please let me know if you are struggling to log on or if you don’t know how to access Evidence for Learning.

Let’s see what everyone has been getting up to this week…

Nicola and Skye have been in school this week again with Mrs England and Miss Aindow. Nicola has been busy helping staff to make their videos for the YouTube channel- I’ll be keeping an eye out for Nicola appearing on some of the upcoming videos. They’ve both completed four of the Six Star Challenges this week and have been completing some Green Eggs and Ham activities too. Skye has been thinking about foods that she likes to eat and foods that she doesn’t like to eat. Nicola has made a Father’s Day card for her Dad too. They’ve both had a go at making Playdoh and are looking forward to trying the rainbow pancakes next week too. Super work both of you!

Ben has been enjoying singing songs from Education City this week, as well as having a go at his new activities on there and Purple Mash. He’s been practicing typing the key words from Green Eggs and Ham and has been working hard finding out how many counters he has got without needing to count them. Great work, Ben!

Charlie has enjoyed the wet weather this week and decided to dance in the rain and collect rainwater in a cup to see how much rain there was. What a brilliant idea! He’s been working hard on Education City and Purple Mash too, as well as practicing his over-writing of key words from Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza and his sight-reading too. Charlie’s also been baking Mrs Mahood’s brownies again and helping Mum with grating some cheese. Super work, Charlie!

Daisy has enjoyed doing the Six Star Challenges this week with the help of Mum and her brother Will. We love to see a team effort! She’s helped to tidy her room, done some wax rubbings around the garden, copied a wonderful dance from Into the Unknown (from Frozen 2), practiced some deep breathing exercises and made a beautiful poster for the NHS. Daisy has been using Colourful Semantics to build sentences about the Tiger Who Came to Tea and some other of her favourite books. She has been doing a science experiment using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar and has helped Mum to make some rainbow pancakes too. Wonderful work, Daisy!

Francesca has been very busy at home doing lots and lots of school work this week! She’s been building words from Green Eggs and Ham using her letter cards, practicing writing the key words from the story too and matching words that rhyme. She’s been going for some walks as well as dancing along to the Green Eggs and Ham video. Francesca has also been working hard on Education City and Purple Mash on the computer, using the Numicon to help her with her subtraction problems, and has been enjoying the Fast Food Rockers Playdoh Gym too. Brilliant work, Francesca!

Harrison’s mum sent me some lovely photos of him this week. He has been enjoying spending time with his pet dogs and has enjoyed a home cinema experience this week- complete with Frapuccino and snack box while watching Beauty and the Beast. Sounds brilliant, Harrison!

Jake has been continuing to practice his writing at home. He has been writing the numbers 1-20 and continuing to write his full name too. Jake has been working hard with his Numicon work too and has been using the shapes to help him to answer simple subtraction word problems. Well done, Jake!

Rose has been getting out and about on her bike this week. Mum said they saw the biggest pigs they’ve ever seen when they were out the other day- they must have been huge! She has been writing and spelling the key words from Green Eggs and Ham and has enjoyed reading the story too. Rose has also been working hard on Education City and has even been doing some of the worksheets from Education City too. Rose has also had a go at the Six Star Challenge this week, see below to see what she’s got up to. Super work, Rose!

We announced on our video call this afternoon that our Star of the Week this week is…

Daisy!!

Daisy has been working incredibly hard at home since we haven’t been in school, and this week is no exception. She has been taking part in a science experiment with Mum using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, using Colourful Semantics to build sentences to comment on pictures from her favourite books and for helping Mum to make rainbow pancakes- cracking the egg by herself! Brilliant work, Daisy!

We also mentioned our Six Star Challenge certificate winners- Rose has gained her Bronze certificate for completing 2 activities (NHS poster and helping to clean her room), Skye and Nicola have also gained their Bronze certificate for completing 4 activities (NHS poster, tidying up, copying Just Dance and doing some deep breathing). And Daisy has done it again and has gained her second Gold certificate for completing all six challenges! Super work girls. We hope to see some more of you joining in with the Six Star Challenge next week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
