This week in 11R we have been busy learning all about online safety.

Safer Internet Day was on Tuesday 9th February. Together we watched the BBC live lesson in class, and our friends at home joined in the fun by watching it too. We talked about making the right choices online and the dangers of sharing personal information. The learners, both in school and at home, we able to give some really good answers on what is safe and unsafe to share online. We know that it is important we never share details about ourselves such as our name, where we live or where we go to school.

Mrs Bretherton and Mr Maudsley talked with the learners, in school and at home, about ‘knowing’ someone online or offline. We realised that we don’t really know people online unless we have met them in person and spent time with them. We do know our friends and our families though, as we spend time with them.

It has been a really interesting week and we have learnt a lot of new things about keeping safe online.
