This week we have marked two important events. The first was Children in Need where we did some fun activities including an acrostic poem and a ‘crack the code’ activity where we had to solve clues in groups to work out the hidden code.
For Remembrance Day we looked at the story of the soldiers in WW1 who called a truce on Christmas Day and played football together. We talked about the how the soldiers must have felt at the time and how their views an the ‘enemy’ would have changed when the fighting stopped. We watched an advertisement, music video and animations which all told the story in different ways. Class then used their iPads to make their own comic strip style story and the results were fantastic, everybody worked so hard. Next our artistic skills were put to the test making a scene with a colour wash back ground and adding poppies we had cut out to give a 3D effect. We are all so impressed with the results well done everyone.

In English we have carried on with our persuasive writing, by composing letters to companies to help us save the Orangutan, and we have completed a sequencing exercise by remembering the instructions of how to make soap which we will doing in the near future.

Also this week there has been lots of work on time in Maths.

We have had our first birthday of the school year, happy 16th birthday Millie.
