This half term our sensory story has been ‘We’re going on a polar bear hunt’ which has tied in fantastically with a winter and Christmas theme. We’ve explored ice, water, snow and a cave through different sensory means. 

Over the last 2 weeks Maple have been taking part in lot’s of festive activities within class. 

Last week we had our Christmas Jumper and Christmas dinner day, we all came in many different fabulous jumpers consisting of reindeers, Santa Claus’s, penguins and many more. 
It was also our Christmas Party day last week, we had a wide selection of snacks and party food to enjoy at dinner and snack times, we had plenty of Christmas music, dancing and even 2 games of pass the parcel! 

This week was breakfast with Santa. We all got to come to school in our pyjamas, eat lot’s of lovely breakfast food and then we saw Santa and his elves, they even brought us presents! 
It was also Miss Woods’ birthday we sang happy birthday, ate cake and there was a dancing, singing flower candle! 

Miss Howarth has done plenty of festive attention autism’s. From the bucket she’s pulled out; dancing Christmas trees, rudolf red nose popper, racing Christmas cars and crackers! 
For stage two and three activities we’ve done; fizzing snowflakes, foam Christmas tree with baubles and a foam snowman splat. 

Throughout class we have had festive activities out including; decorating Santa’s beard, exploring Christmas pasta and posting cards for Santa. 
We’ve also made lots of Christmas crafts including candy cane cards to send to local care homes, new year calendars and Christmas biscuits.
