It has been the final week before the Christmas holidays.

This week in our “My thinking and problem solving” lesson, the class split up in little groups. Some of the learners were looking at sequence and patterns, putting a picture of Santa sledge in the correct order then looking at Christmas items and following the pattern on what came next. Others were looking at time, concentrating on o’clock and half past on Education City.

In My Creativity, 9G made their own wreaths. Miss Brophy talked through step by step instructions and wrote these on the board for the pupils to follow, helping them with their independent skills. 9G drawn around their hands and carefully cut them out. They them stuck their hands together into a circle. A little help was needed with this bit. Then red circles for berries were added. They look very festive.

In My Communication 9G did some good letter writing to Santa. Class worked on their sentence building, finger spaces and spellings.

Everyone was very excited on Wednesday as it was “Breakfast with Santa”. 9G came into school wearing their pyjamas!!!!! Before we had our breakfast and the visit from Santa, Mrs Mahood came into 9G and shown us how to make a snowman out of socks! Everyone followed Mrs Mahood instructions by doing good listening and good looking.

Hope the parents that joined 9G “sharing our learning” enjoyed listening to the letters the children had wrote and how well they read them out. We were super proud of them.

On Thursday Astley Park had some special visitors. We were very lucky to be visited by some Alpacas . 9G were fortunate to go and see them in the school hall. 9G had to do good listening to the Alpacas owner on how stroke, feed and walk them. Again, we followed the instructions and really enjoyed our time with them.

9G also watched Astley Park Christmas production. It was so nice seeing all the other classes and how well they acted out their scenes . Do hope you have had time to watch it and enjoyed our scene from Elf…. As you can tell, they really enjoyed filming it, and the practise payed off with our signing of “We wish you a Merry Christmas”.

Well done to all classes.

Can 9G staff please take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We are looking forward in seeing you all in 2022.
