Hello everyone. It’s safe to say that everyone is still adjusting to life back in school after our amazing week at Calvert Trust last week (pupils and staff!). We’ve had lots of tired pupils so we have taken things easy in class this week. We’ve still stuck to our usual routines, Eshan has been leading Zones in morning and afternoon group every day and Harry has been our resident weather man, filling in the date and weather on our board every day too. Jacob has done a brilliant job of making the toast and crumpets this week, doing this independently and very safely too.

On Monday we had a few pupils who were absent so we took the remaining pupils to Asda to do some shopping. We took it in turns to be in charge of crossing the road on the way there and back and we bought everything that we needed for cafe in class. In the afternoon we

On Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning we have been practicing our song for our Christmas performance. Keep an eye out for an email from the office about the Christmas show and how to order tickets. We are all very excited about it and can’t wait to dress up and perform for you all. We sent home the lyrics for our song before we went to Calvert, if you could practice the singing and signing with your children at home this would be very much appreciated.

On Tuesday afternoon Mrs Fisher had to go to the dentist so Mrs Cobham led our cooking session. We all worked together to make Christmas bark, it looks delicious. We are saving it to share with you all on Monday for our Sharing our Learning session.

Wednesday afternoon was PE and Mrs Cobham very kindly drove us over to the leisure centre on the minibus so we didn’t have to brave the freezing cold weather. We enjoyed playing a game of Sharks to warm up and then split across the hall taking part in different ball games like volleyball, basketball and catch. We finished off with a quick practice of our Christmas song.

On Thursday morning, Josh and Danny went shopping with Miss Smith and Miss Patterson to purchase some snacks for our pantomime visit on Friday. In class, Mrs Fisher and Mrs Cobham worked with everyone to do some writing about our visit to Calvert Trust so that we can share it with you all on Monday. Katie worked with Miss Holliday to do some writing about her week in 11G for her to share with everyone on Monday too. In the afternoon Miss Troughton was in class to do some Science. Everyone was learning about the skin and the layers that make it. Some of us made models of the skin, some of us coloured in diagrams and some of us made edible models of the layers of skin too.

Everyone came into school very excited on Friday morning ready for our trip to the Pantomime in Blackburn. We travelled by coach with 10R and 11R and reached Blackburn Empire Theatre just in time for the pantomime to start. We had brilliant seats, Tyler and Mrs Kelly even got to sit on the front row! We all had lots of fun singing along and shouting at the silly bits in the show. When it finished, we came back to school on the coach and ate our dinner in class.

In the afternoon Mrs Fisher brought our class Christmas tree into class and we all worked together to decorate it. It’s definitely safe to say we have some learners who are extremely excited that Christmas is on its way!

A massive congratulations to our Star of the Week this week, Josh. Josh has found it tricky returning to school and coping with the demands that being in class brings but as the week has gone on he has done some very good listening and following instructions too. Well done Josh!

A reminder that it is our Sharing our Learning session in class on Monday at 1.30pm. We are really looking forward to seeing you all. Due to the buses arriving in school from 2.30pm, we will try to finish the session a little earlier than planned so that you won’t have any problems getting out of the car park. If you want to take your child home with you early, that is absolutely fine, please let us know on the day. Mrs Fisher sent a message out earlier in the week to let everyone know that we are saving sharing our photos from Calvert Trust until after our Sharing our Learning session. Mrs Fisher will share the photos via the blog on Monday evening.

Next week we will be doing our Secret Santa shopping in Home Bargains when it is everyone’s day to go shopping. Thank you to those who have sent a contribution towards this, if there is anyone left who would like to send money in for this please send it on Monday. There will be no PE next Wednesday, we will be having our class Christmas party that afternoon instead so learners can wear their best party outfits. Swimming will be on on Friday as usual, please send in kit.

Have a lovely weekend!
