After eight weeks of hard work and lots of fun, we’ve made it to the Half Term holidays! 7P have done wonderfully over the last eight weeks in settling in to our new class, new routines and getting to know new friends and teachers, we’re all very proud of how well our learners have adapted and are looking forward to the rest of the school year with them!
On Monday we had our weekly music lesson with Miss Troughton before doing some Halloween Arts and Crafts in the afternoon, which all the children enjoyed as did some of the teachers as you’ll see in the photos!
There was P.E. on Tuesday morning which we did as a whole class, as unfortunately our friends in 8P and 9P weren’t able to join us, and we all had a lot of fun challenging ourselves to improve on our throwing and catching skills, as well as our balancing skills. We also enjoyed working with different friends during P.E. as most weeks we’ve split into groups.
We’ve also enjoyed making decorations for the Halloween Disco and have painted pumpkins as well as bats and spiders. We hope that our decorations make the Halloween Disco extra spooky! It should be a spook-tacular event!
There has also been fun on the interactive whiteboard as we’ve listened to a story about a school for witches, as well as playing educational games with our friends and teachers all having a go! Our learners also have done some worksheets with our teachers, which everyone applied themselves to.
As it was the last day on Thursday we played some games in the morning. Miss Barr brought in a game for us to play where we had to find Halloween monsters, and everyone enjoyed this one! We then played two games of Musical Chairs, the first game was won by Bobby but during the second game the teachers who were also playing got very competitive and we ended up with four teachers and no children during the last few rounds, so the second game of Musical Chairs was won by Mrs James! We then enjoyed Golden Time in the afternoon!
As usual we’ve worked hard on our phonics, reading and number skills as well as accessing the various regulation areas around the school. We’ve also all settled in to the new routine of eating in the dining hall alongside the rest of Key Stage 3 and 4. If we keep doing as well as we have during the first half term through the rest of the year then we’ll have a very good year indeed!
Our Star Of The Week is Jake! We’re all very proud of you Jake, well done!
Have a lovely half term holiday, stay safe if you are going Trick or Treating, don’t eat too many sweets and we’ll see you in November!
