Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a lovely time over Christmas and the New Year, and that you’ve kept to any New Year’s Resolutions that you’ve made!

We started Monday by talking about our holidays, and what we got up to before having a look at our topic for the term ‘Brilliant Bodies’. We spoke about our bodies, and the differences between bodies before doing some Regulation and Reading. In the afternoon we did Sensology and everyone was super brave when it came to using our feet to explore the different materials.

On Tuesday morning we did some Reading and Phonics work as well as some Art where we created our faces before decorating them. Time was our focus in the afternoon, and we looked at the differences between our routines in the morning and the afternoon.

Wednesday morning was P.E, and we all worked well in the hall to practice various skills followed by Reading. During the afternoon we continued our ‘Brilliant Bodies’ work as we looked at Shorter and Taller, and we arranged ourselves in a line from shortest to tallest as well as how it’s okay to be different. It was fascinating to see how many of our learners have had a growth spurt over the holidays with some of our learners being taller than some of the teachers. (Seriously what are you feeding these children or are you placing them in grow bags over night?) We then drew around ourselves on paper before labelling the different parts of our bodies.

On Thursday morning some learners went swimming at All Seasons Leisure Centre whilst others stayed in school to do Food Tech. Everyone who went swimming did brilliantly, and we hope you enjoyed the cookies our learners made in Food Tech. In the afternoon we did Regulation and number work.

Finally on Friday we enjoyed Phonics in the morning, and in the afternoon we had some much deserved Golden Time before Assembly.

Our Star Of The Week is Jack! Jack has worked really hard to engage with lessons this week, and has been a superstar all week! Well done Jack! We’re all very proud of you!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Stay safe and we’ll see you on Monday for another fun week in 7P!
