11R had their third session at Chorley in Bloom this week! When we got there we met David and Mrs Broughton. We sat down with David and he told us all about different types of flower bulbs! We looked at the different sizes and shapes of lots of different flowers and plants, including rosehips, acorns, onion bulbs and berries.

We learnt about how much space a seed or bulb needs depends on where you can plant them and what size pot you might need. We also learnt about how to take care of flowers, and that by cutting them sometimes we can help them to grow bigger and bigger. We also talked about how seeds are spread.

After this we opened some conkers and talked through the process of how to plant them. Each learner got to plant their own conker and then we brought them back to school to let them germinate where we could keep an eye on them. We also got some homework for next week; everyone has to bring in 10 leaves in lots of different colours now that it's autumn!

Again, a massive thank you to everyone at Chorley in Bloom for having us!
