We have been very creative in 9A this week. On Monday we made some paper rockets to add to our space display in class. In the afternoon we started our research on Katherine Johnson ready for writing our biographies. On Tuesday morning we had a walk around Haigh hall and had a look at the walled gardens. In the afternoon we went into the hall and demonstrated how the planets rotate around the sun. Each of the learners took on the role of a different planet and rotated around the sun on the floor. We all had a lot of fun. Wednesday we started writing our Katherine Johnson biographies using our research from earlier in the week. We returned swimming with Paula and she said we worked really hard. Well done. In the afternoon we worked in groups to create a village out of playdoh, we focused on proportions trying to make our cars smaller than our houses. On Thursday we made our way to Morrisons where we picked up the ingredients for our food tech lesson. Whilst there we had a snack in the cafe then made our way back to school. In the afternoon we looked at the story of Easter and new beginnings, then had a go at making something new out of old materials like fabric and wool. The learners got really creative and we had some fantastic ideas, from bracelets to houses. Today we did some fantastic maths work in the morning followed by golden time and this afternoon we worked together to make some chocolate orange brownies. They took a little bit longer than we thought to bake so we will get to taste them on Monday . This weeks star of the week is Teegan for being positive all week and being a good friend to all, well done Teegan. Have a lovely weekend everyone and we will see you back on Monday.
