We have had another fantastic week in 9P where everyone is now settled into their routine and giving their absolute all to their learning. Well done 9P we are so very proud of you.
In our learning this week we have focused on the following:
Maths
We have been exploring one more and one less from a given number. We have played games where we have had to blow one more bubble or pop a bubble on the screen to workout the answer. We have also played a game where we added one or took one frog from a Lilly pad. Look out for the photo of us playing it in this weeks photo gallery. Our learners have also used equipment to count out a given number and then when required used a number line to them help work out one more or one less. We have also looked at comparing groups of objects, identifying which group contains more or less.
Phonics
In our phonics learning we have been using our phonic knowledge to complete the activities within the ‘Initial code’ app on our i-pad and have been doing some super reading of our phonics books
My Creativity
In our art lesson we created another piece of autumn artwork to add our display board. This week we placed a paper leave on a piece of black card and using oil pastels coloured in the leaf with autumnal colours. Our learners were encouraged on this occasion to colour outside of the lines. This was so when our learners removed the paper leaf its silhouette remained on the black card. Well done everyone, they look very effective!
We have also helped our teddy get dressed for hot and sunny weather by choosing the most appropriate clothes for them to wear as well as creating sunshine pictures using card and strips of yellow tissue paper. They look fantastic, well done.
We have also used our i-pads to create a weather book, inputting the data we recorded on our weather charts.
And on Wednesday with Miss Troughton our learners explored the use of material language such as: rough, smooth, push, pull.
P.E
In P.E we continued to work on our balance and agility using the P.E equipment.
Online safety
On Wednesday Miss Troughton recapped last week’s learning on the importance of asking for help from a trusted adult when using online devices.
This week we discussed the importance of not sharing personal information when online, such as your really name, your address or the school you go etc.
Sensory Story
In our sensory story we explored sand as Seren visited the beach in Summer. When she got home there was a storm and we watched the light from a torch dart around the classroom to represent lighting. We have also been answering questions about the story in our guided reading session.
We congratulate all our learners for working hard and having another fabulous week, but this week’s Star of the Week goes to Isla. Well done Isla
Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to hearing about your weekend in our Weekend news lesson on Monday.
