We hope you’ve all had a wonderful Half Term Holiday! All of 7P looked relaxed, recharged and ready to learn on Monday morning, and we were all surprised by how grown up our learners looked!
We’ve settled back into our routines well, it’s as if we’ve never been away! We started Monday with phonics and reading, as well as playing a game on the Interactive Whiteboard as a class where we had to read a statement about an animal before matching the animal to the statement. On Monday afternoon we began to learn Spanish, we’ve learnt greetings such as Hola (Hello), Buenas Tardes (Good Afternoon), and Adiós (Goodbye). We practiced saying these greetings to our Amigos (Friends) and our teachers taking turns with each other, we also listened to a song in Spanish before playing a game of Musical Chairs with Spanish music.
We had our first P.E. lesson of the half term on Tuesday Morning with half the class continuing to work on the skills they had been practicing before the Half Term Holidays and the other half began to work on Dance, as well as different ways of travelling such as walking, jumping and rolling like a sausage on the floor! In the afternoon Miss Fraser read an Autumn Story to the class, before we had a Science lesson where we tested whether things were waterproof or not, and it’s safe to say that our coats are waterproof!
As well as being Bonfire Night on Wednesday it was also our friend Jack’s 12th Birthday! Happy Birthday Jack! Jack was a very kind friend and brought in some cakes to share with his friends, so thank you Jack!
For our Bonfire Night activities on Wednesday please see the separate blog: https://astleypark.lancs.sch.uk/blog/2025-11-05-02-42-7p-celebrate-bonfire-night-2025
On Thursday we continued our investigations into what is and what isn’t waterproof, as we looked around class to find things to test, all of our learners showed that they are keen scientists and we’ve learnt a lot about what materials are waterproof.
After doing some reading and phonics work on Friday morning we enjoyed Golden Time in the afternoon with Miss Troughton before going to Celebration Assembly.
Our Star Of The Week this week is the one and only Luke! Luke has worked hard in all of our sessions, has joined in as much as he can and has been an excellent role model to his friends! We’re all very proud of you Luke! Well done!
After such a busy week, we hope you have a wonderful, and relaxing, weekend! If you are going to any Bonfires or Firework Displays please remember to stay safe, wrap up warm and have fun!
