As we approach Christmas, 8A have had a very busy week!
This weeks challenge in PHSE/Thrive was to build an igloo.
Each team were given some sugar cubes and some icing.Teams again worked exceptionally well and have learnt over the weeks that they need to plan before starting. There were some great ideas within the groups and some fantastic teamwork.
On Wednesday it was Christmas dinner day… everyone went into the hall to the beautifully laid out tables, ready to tuck into their Christmas dinner. They enjoyed pulling their crackers, telling the cracker jokes and putting their party hats on. Dinner was delicious and nothing was left.
On Thursday 8A practiced their independence skills by making their own buffet lunch. They made their own sandwiches and then the table was laid. Everyone was overjoyed that they got to help themselves to whatever they wanted. :)))
A few of the learners even tried food that they hadn’t had before, which was amazing!
After lunch it was time for party games, they played musical bumps, pass the parcel, musical statues but I think their favourite was the After Eight game!! Trying to get an After Eight in their mouths from their forehead without using their hands. It did get a little messy :)
Friday was a very exciting day as it was Panto day. Sleeping Beauty went down a storm, with learners laughing and shouting at the baddie. They thought Mr Crofts joining was hilarious.
8A are getting very excited for Christmas now and Breakfast with Santa next week.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
