During this weeks sensology, we have been exploring the winter season. We have used our five senses to learn about the different aspects of winter. We used our eyes to see the snow, our nose to spell the pine, our ears to listen to the rain, our tongue to taste the hot chocolate and our hands to feel the cold ice. We have been responding to different key “seasonal/ weather” vocabulary and distinguishing different features of seasonal change, weather and events.
We have been communicating with our core boards, point at what we see, hear, smell, taste and feel and also pointing to a “like” and “don’t like” visual to express our feelings. We have been working on sustaining our attention to a stimulus and multi-sensory props and materials.

We have also continued to explore our animal topic and used our fine motor skills during continuous provision, feeding insects to an anteater and also our fine motor hedgehog game- allowing us to focus on our hand eye coordination, pushing the different coloured spikes into the holes. We have been working on identifying different animal vocabulary and identifying basic features of animals.

We have had a super busy week with lots of fun learning! Well done Maple class.
