This week we’ve been looking at differences between ourselves and others, as well as discussing how it is okay to be different to the people around us but that we shouldn’t judge others based on those differences.

To support us with this learning we watched the fantastic “The Smeds and the Smoos” by Julia Donaldson on BBC iPlayer, in the story the Smeds don’t like the Smoos and the Smoos don’t like the Smeds however by the end of the story they accept their differences and learn to get along with each other, eventually becoming friends.

We spoke about why the Smeds didn’t like the Smoos and why the Smoos didn’t like the Smeds as well as the similarities between them, and we also discussed the differences between ourselves in class as well as the similarities.

We then made planets, before painting and decorating them with each learner creating their own planet which was unique to themselves.
