Today in Chestnut class, we enjoyed ‘Spring Sensology’! We sang the 5 senses song, pointing to our eyes, ears, nose, mouth and hands. We helped each other to remember which senses matched our physical features by using the core boards to say ‘we see with our eyes’ and ‘we hear with our ears’.
For ‘seeing’, we watched our friends try on the butterfly wings and flap their arms. We enjoyed looking at the pretty colours on the wings.
For ‘hearing’ we listened to a video of lots of little birds chirping.
For ‘smelling’ we sniffed the lovely lavender flowers and made comments to express whether we liked it or we didn’t like it.
For ‘touching’, we felt the soft feathers with our fingers. We enjoyed sprinkling them above our heads and watching when fall.
For ‘tasting’ we used communication boards to request a chocolate egg or a hot cross bun (I think this was our favourite part!)
Well done Chestnut class!
