8A learn about capacity and volume.

8A have had a great first week and settled well back into their normal routines.

They were split into different teams and asked to pick a container and a piece of equipment to put water into it with.During this lesson, they learned that not all bottles hold the same amount of liquid. 8A explored the difference between volume and capacity, understanding that volume is the amount a substance occupies and capacity is the maximum amount a container can hold. Then they practised estimating amounts and selecting appropriate measuring equipment to ensure accurate results.

Everyone worked exceptionally hard and used correct terminology when asked what they had learnt throughout the activity.
