It was Group 2's turn to cook today. After pancakes last week, made by Group 1, it was time for something savoury. As Miss Aindow's favourite food is pizza (it's even her signing name!), we thought we would adapt the traditional pizza and make it slightly easier/healthier and cook tortilla pizzas.

On Monday, Miss Heaton asked Group 2 to choose some toppings that they would like on their pizzas. They chose: hot dogs, sweetcorn and pepperoni as well as the more traditional cheese and tomato toppings too.

In the Food Tech room, Miss Aindow read through the recipe and everyone took a turn at collecting the equipment that they needed.

First, we put some passata onto the wrap and used the back of a spoon to spread it around. Next we chose which toppings we wanted and used a knife to carefully cut the toppings up ready to go on our pizzas.

Then it was time to grate some cheese. We used two different cheeses today: cheddar and mozzarella.

We put our toppings onto the passata and made sure that we spread them out evenly across the pizza. Then we sprinkled lots of cheese on top too.

Finally, Mrs England helped us to put our pizzas onto baking trays and carefully put them in the oven to cook.

After our walk a mile, it was time to sample our pizzas! Miss Aindow and Mrs England made some extras so that there was enough for everyone in class to try some. The pizzas were a big hit, especially with Thomas who would have quite happily eaten the lot!

Hope you enjoy eating them at home tonight. It is Group 1's turn to cook pizzas next week so please have a chat with them about which toppings they would like on their pizzas and let us know!
