On Thursday, Sycamore had fun in class celebrating bonfire night with crafts and exploring some popular traditions.

First we collected sticks on a regulation walk, exploring outside, that we used later in the afternoon to help Miss Cross build our own ‘fire’.

We explored different tools and materials to create some bonfire themed pictures, choosing our own craft activity from three choices - glitter fireworks, printing fireworks or marble painting fires. Just have a look at the finished pictures - aren’t they great!

After we had built our fire, using our turn taking skills, we spoke about what happens on bonfire night. Sycamore remembered lots about the celebration, including toasting marshmallows, making s’mores, writing with sparklers, watching fireworks and drinking hot chocolate! We then shared ideas on how we can keep safe on bonfire night. Sycamore said we should wrap up warm and keep away from the fire because it will burn us and hurt us.

During our class celebrations we listened to the crackling fire, watched fireworks, wrote our name with ‘sparklers’, tasted and ate marshmallow sweets and drank hot chocolate!

What a way to end another great day..

Happy Bonfire Night Everyone!
