What a busy week 9G have had.

This week we started off practising our signalong to “We Wish you a Merry Christmas “. It has been a long time since we last did this so at first we were a little bit rusty, but after a couple of goes we smashed it. Hopefully you will see a clip of 9G showing off our fantastic signing next week.

We have also been practising our Christmas scene ready for this years Secondary Christmas production. ( thank you for sending in the coloured tops). Not long to wait to see what we have been up to.

On Wednesday it was party day. 9G , you all looked amazing and smart in your party clothes. ( Even the staff wore their party clothes). Miss Brophy went to the supermarket on Tuesday evening and bought some party food. ( thank you so much Miss Brophy). What a fantastic spread we had. 9G practiced their independence skills by choosing which sandwich filling they wanted and making their own sandwich. There was also a choice of sausage rolls, quiche, crisps, pork pies, cheese, cocktail sausages, and a choice of cakes, fruit and biscuits along with a chocolate milkshake. Everyone had a delicious party lunch.

After lunch it was party games. First game we played was Chinese whispers. We sat in a circle and Miss Brophy started with the first whisper which was “ Brussel sprouts on a plate”. After it got whispered 14 times ( of course staff joined in too) it ended up as “Miss Grant smells “. The pupils thought this was hilarious. So of course we had to play it again. This time Miss Grant and Reece started the whisper…. “ Miss Brophy is the best”. At the end of the whisper it ended up with Clayton saying….. “ Miss Brophy is a wombat”. Lots of laugher was had.

After that it was the After Eight game. The pupils had to work out how to get the After Eight from their forehead to their mouth without using their hands. Lots of funny faces were being pulled as you can image even though they were covered in chocolate. Well done to Miss Patterson who managed it.

Thursday morning, we participated in a “Be Internet Legends Day”  assembly via the internet. They spoke about staying safe on the internet, especially over the Christmas period. They spoke about what is ok to share, fake news, trust and don’t trust websites, being internet secure, not sharing passwords, being internet kind and we joined in with a online quiz throughout.

At the end the class joined in with a pledge on keeping safe on the internet.

Also on Thursday it was the secondary Christmas Lunch day. Earlier this week 9G made some reindeer hats to wear whilst eating our dinner. We looked very smart.

We all had our lunch together whilst listening to Christmas tunes. Massive thank you to the ladies in the kitchen who did an amazing job yet again!

Friday was Christmas jumper day and what lovely jumpers everyone came in. We had  reindeers, snowmen, ghostbusters, glitter, baubles and elf’s jumpers in class .

This weeks Star of the Week in 9G is Jacob  for good singing, signing and acting in our Christmas production. Well done Jacob.
