Another busy week in 9A!!
On Monday morning we looked at some leaflets and started doing our own research to design a holiday leaflet to a different planet. We found out some very interesting facts to help persuade people to visit. In the afternoon we talked about rockets and Miss Bentham said we were going to make our own and try to fly them. We used plastic bottles and then added a cardboard cone and some fins and legs. Fingers crossed they fly!!!!

On Tuesday morning we visited Haigh Hall, we went for a woodland walk to find things we see in autumn. We collected some conkers, acorns and leaves. In the afternoon we chose our favourite dance songs to dance to in our P.E lesson. We had great fun. After P.E we looked at different time zones around the world.
On Wednesday we continued with our swimming lessons at Hindley. We really are working hard in these lessons and our skills are improving. We also launched our rockets in the hall. We used the bike pump to shoot the rockets high up into the hall.

Thursday we went to Morrisons to shop for our ingredients for Fridays Cooking and Nutrition lesson. The learners are getting more independent each week and manage to find all the ingredients and sourced the best value items. Daniel remembered which biscuits were the best value from the week before and Ben remembered which crisps were. In the afternoon we looked at beginnings and endings then planned a celebration party for the end of Year 9.

Friday we enjoyed golden time and then made chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. These were amazing, let’s hope they made it home for you to try.

Our Star of the Week this week was Daniel for his work at the army cadets. Well done Daniel we are all super proud.
Today was Mrs Stubbs birthday but sadly her last day. 9A will miss you lots but wish you all the best in her new job.
