On Monday morning we recapped on fractions in Maths especially quarters, we are all getting really good at them. After break the girls went to girls group and the boys did some reading.

In the afternoon we did some reading comprehension about evacuees and their parents in WW2 and we answered some questions about what we had read. 
It was Jake’s 14th birds today and we had cakes for snack to celebrate. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE!!!! 
On Tuesday morning we had maths. In maths we looked at what we could remember about fractions and then we went out to play. After play we did my communication, we wrote a poem full of emotion about world war 2. Then we did some reading and sounds-write. After lunch we had music with Miss Mahood. We looked at decoding and reading music. 
On Wednesday  opening we went on a community visit to Asda to buy our snack and food tech ingredients. In the afternoon we had a careers talk in the hall, some past pupils came to talk to us about what they do since leaving Astley Park School. 
On Thursday it was World Book day, we did lots of fun activities like painting potatoes and making them look like super heroes, writing our own stories, a super hero workshop and making something special to take home. 
On Friday morning we started makin Anderson shelter models, we made a really good start. Then we had the second part of our career talk with past pupils it was interesting. In the afternoon we had golden time where we chose to watch a film then we had celebration assembly. 
This weeks star of the week is Jake for brightening the mood in class, with his cheery personality and always making us smile. Well done Jake.
