Summer term in 7P
This summer term 7P’s topic is “We are going to the Circus”. To start off this topic, the learners watched a little video of a circus which has acrobats doing different activities like jumping in the air and type rope walking.
Then the learners used bright colours and their artistic licence and painted a clown. We had clowns with orange hair, green hair and yellow hair. They took their time and tried really hard to paint in the lines.
Next the learners used their cutting skills and used scissors to cut out different circus performers to make their very own big top circus tent. They could choose from clowns, string men, acrobats, jugglers, just naming a few. We had some very busy tents.
These items are going to look great on our display board.
The class also watched, listened to and took part in a sensory story called “Fun at the Circus”. There was loud music playing, a Ring Master shouting “Roll up Roll up” whilst throwing his arms around when introducing the acts, an elephant spraying water, golden tickets being handed out and a type rope walker being very steady, balancing on a high wire. All the learners took part whilst Miss Robertson read the story out.
It’s going to be a fun term, talking and doing different activities relating to the circus.
