On Monday we visited The Anderson Centre for  our final session. In the morning the learners and staff went on a large paddle board. Working as a team they paddled into the middle of the reservoir and played some games. They ended up getting very wet but had lots of fun.
In the afternoon some of the class joined 10P and went on the leap of faith obstacle, they all managed to climb to the top of the tree and then jump off.
The rest of the class and some of 10P worked in pairs and tackled the low ropes, they all had very good balance and worked together to stay off the ground.

On Tuesday morning the learners worked in their maths groups to complete some maths work. After break we watched picture news about a K-Pop band in South Korea who have hearing impairments and sign their songs. We talked about how they could sing the songs without their hearing. The learners then learnt how to sign theory names using BSL.
As it’s Sports week this week we joined 10P for our activities in the afternoon. The first activity was soft archery, everyone was put in teams  and used the skills they had learnt at the Anderson Centre to fire their arrows at the target. Next the learners played Boccia, they were put into teams of girls and boys and had to kneel down to bowl their ball.

It was Water Safety Week at Hindley Swimming Pool this week, the learners had to wear shorts and t-shirts over their swimming trunks/costumes. The swimming teacher Lucas talked about water safety and the flags we might see when we are on the beach and what they mean and how they keep us safe.
Next the learners got into the pool and learnt how to float on their backs like a star fish, they then went up to the deep end and safely fell in and turned onto their backs and then did backstroke down to the shallow end. Well done 10A, you were amazing!!!!

The learners played crazy golf after lunch on the field, some of them were really good at it and managed to get a hole in one.
They also had a go at Bollywood dancing and all enjoyed it.

On Thursday morning we ventured to Tesco to buy all of the things we needed for our bacon butty enterprise. Thursday afternoon was sport day, and all of the learners had a great time taking part in all of the sports events. We had water balloon throwing, hula hoop pass, egg and spoon races, relay races and much more. The teachers managed to keep us nice and cool (and a bit wet).

Friday morning was spent in the food tech room making the bacon and sausage barms for our enterprise project. Despite the heat the learners did a great job. In the afternoon we had a go on the inflatable obstacle course and then settled in for a film in the nice cool classroom during golden time.

There was no star of the week this week due to sports week, but the whole of 10A have been fantastic.
