1st week back in 2026 in 10A

We hope you all had a good break and enjoyed the rest over this half term.

10A settled in nicely, doing a little ASDAN work, looking at their reading books, and with half of the class looking at ICT work whilst the other half went into the community. We will be swapping the groups over next week.

On Tuesday afternoon, we had Miss Troughton teaching. Miss Troughton’s topic this term is Parenting Awareness as part of PSHE, and 10A will be learning what it’s really like to look after a child and understanding the responsibilities.

As this was the first lesson, we briefly chatted about how to keep a baby safe and healthy by clothing, feeding, keeping them clean and providing a safe place to sleep.

Miss Troughton brought in a few baby dolls, where 10A were asked to put on a nappy. At first we had a few of the learners not really wanting a go, but by the end they all either watched or changed their minds, and tried. We think they all agreed, it’s not as easy as it looked.

We look forward to following lessons in this topic.
