Chestnut class had a blast for World Book Day! It was lovely to see them dressed up as their favourite books characters!

We sat and attended a World Book Day themed Attention Autism (what’s in the box). During stage 1, we watched Miss Seddon swish the red ribbon, listened to the howling wolf puppet and the singing/squirting flower! During stage 2, we watched Miss Seddon make a wolf face using paint, foam and pipe cleaners. During stage 3, we had a turn at splatting and chopping the wood. During stage 4, we had a go at following a step by step task to make a ‘wolf in granny’s bed’ picture! Well done!

We also attended a Little Red Riding Hood Sensory Story! We went to the garden room and used our listening ears as our teachers read out the story. Throughout the story, there were lots of props that we could see, touch and hear. We used the communication boards to comment on the story and label what we could see. These included leaves and bugs in the woods, chattering teeth and recorders! We also took it in turns to pretend to be characters in the story. For example, we wore granny’s bonnet and pretended to be the wolf dressing up as granny!

In the afternoon, we joined other classes in the hall and walked around showing off our amazing costumes!

What an amazing World Book Day!
