During Summer 1 on Thursdays we will be learning new skills in food tech.

This week, students worked on making cheese scones. The class followed the instructions step by step, from preparing the ingredients to mixing and shaping the dough. It was a good opportunity to practise basic techniques such as rubbing in, forming a soft dough, and handling the mixture carefully so the scones would rise properly.

Once the scones were baked, everyone had the chance to taste what they had made. We loved them!

Next week, we will be moving on to puff pastry pizza. This will introduce a different set of skills, including working with ready-made pastry and preparing simple toppings. It will allow the class to continue building confidence in the kitchen.
