This week, we engaged in a water themed RISE session with Miss Seddon. During the Regulate and Reconnect stage, we had access to multi coloured ribbons that we swished around, whilst a sensory water video played in the background. Then, Miss Seddon began to set up the water tray. She filled some jugs with cold water and blue food colouring, and some with warm water and red food colouring. We used the communication boards to comment and label language. We focused on ‘hot’ and cold’, as well all as ‘pour’. We explored the water by pouring using different equipment such as funnels, cups, and fabrics. We even had flashing ‘ice cubes’ that glowed when in the water! We did an excellent job at sharing the different resources with our friends and teachers. Some of us showed great confidence and explored straight away and some of us waited until the area was a little quieter. Then our teachers began to tidy up the water and used towels to dry the floor and equipment, signifying that RISE was ending. What a great RISE session!
