This week, pupils enjoyed a fun and engaging RISE session focused on communication, interaction, and early language development. Using intensive interaction and a range of motivating resources, pupils were supported to engage with adults and experience shared enjoyment.

The children explored balloons by helping to blow them up with pumps, watching air go “in” and then observing the air come “out” as the balloons were released. We also used tennis rackets to waft and bat the balloons around the room, encouraging turn-taking, shared attention, and exploration of key concepts such as “up” and “down.”

It was wonderful to see pupils engaging with one another, developing communication skills, and sharing moments of joy through play.
