Willow class have had an especially musical week this week!
As part of our pirate topic we looked at sea shanties! We have learnt a lot about how pirates communicated and how lots of pirates couldn’t read so they had to use different means of communication. We looked at some examples of pirate shanties and compared them to some current songs around today in modern music, seeing the similarities. We then used the musical instruments to try and play in time to a pirate shanty.

On Thursday Mrs Troughton came to willow class to teach My Creativity and the children explored different pitches of sound and looked at clapping out different rhythms. They then had to listen to different notes to see if they were getting hotter or colder towards finding special items around the class! The children loved this activity and worked so well in their teams taking turns and helping each other. Super work Willow class!
