This half term in My Communication, as part of our Bright Sparks theme during Black History Month, 8A will be learning all about the three inspirational black women who helped build NASA. We will be learning all about the lives of Dorothy Vaughan, Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson & Christine Darden as we explore information texts. Some learners will be learning about key features of information texts and how to extract key information from these texts using the key features to help them; others will be focusing
on answering questions about information texts and developing their reading skills by using their sight reading skills to read key topic-related words such as “space”, “moon”, “rocket” and “Earth”; and others will be developing their communication skills through space-related play! Keep checking Evidence for Learning to keep up to date with our learning!
