It was a pleasure on Wednesday to take 13 pupils and 3 staff members to represent Astley Park School at Lancashire Special Schools U14 and U16 football league playing 8 competitive games in very warm conditions. Both teams played each game with a positive team spirit working hard for each other and no matter what the result showed respect for their opponents by congratulating them before leaving the pitch. 
It was fantastic to observe them encouraging each other between games and still having a smile on their faces even though they were extremely tired. 
When we asked them if they had enjoyed themselves and wanted to come back in May for the next round of games there was a resounding YES!!!

I think the final picture of the pupils before we came back to school says it all!!! 

Finally I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the pupils to thank Mrs England, Mr Crew and Mr Connor for their support n encouraging the pupils and making the day a great success.
