This week it has been Sports Week at Astley Park School. We have taken part in lots of different sporting activities over the course of the week. We have taken full advantage of the beautiful weather and have spent lots of our time outside enjoying the sunshine.

Monday was our turn for the bikes and everyone thoroughly enjoyed riding on the track with their friends.

On Tuesday we took part in orienteering around the school grounds. It was quite tricky navigating our way around using our map, but with teamwork and determination we found all of the points.

Wednesday was a super fun event, Mr Murphy set up a crazy golf course around the adventure playground. In pairs the class had to use their problem solving skills to dodge the obstacles and hit the ball into the target.

Thursday was 10G’s time to give Curling a try, everyone demonstrated great team spirit cheering each other on and congratulating one another.

As the weather changed on Friday, we weren’t able to take part in the races that were planned. However, we didn’t let this dampen our spirits and we went back out for some more fun on the bikes.

A special mention also to our Sports Champion of the Week, Rose. This week Rose has shown exceptional kindness, cheering on her friends during the sporting events. During orienteering Rose was natural at map reading, working with her partner to find and photograph every point on the checklist.

What a busy week we have had. We hope you all enjoy your weekend.
