Today was 10P’s last day at Bendrigg!
We started our day with a nice cooked breakfast to get us fuelled for our walk and then met up with Jenny and Angus, ready to go! We made sure we had lots of layers on as it was only going to be 2°C! We all piled onto the bus and away we went. We had a drive to Elterwater, where we saw lots of sheep on the way and had some lovely views of the snowy mountains. Once we arrived we all made sure we had our lunches and then we set off.
We followed the river along to a lake where we stopped for lunch and we even had some sheep come over to say hi! We were a little bit chilly but the sun kept us lovely and warm and we made sure to stay together as a team and kept each other going.
After getting back to Bendrigg we had a little bit of time for a drink and a rest and then we went over to the sports hall where we got to have a go on the sensory swing. We all took it in turns and got to choose our favourite songs to listen to as we swung about. Whilst we were waiting for our turns we also got to chill out in the sensory room.
For tea tonight we had a roast dinner which was super tasty and then we bundled ourselves back up for the campfire. We all roasted marshmallows and made s’more’s which we ate sat around the fire. After this there was just enough time to visit the shop so we could get ourselves some souvenirs and then it was time for bed! All of our bags are packed ready for the morning and even though it’s been an incredible week, we all can’t wait to be home! Thank you Bendrigg for a wonderful time, and an even bigger thank you to Jenny, Angus and Rex who have been our leaders this week!!
