This week Sycamore have been doing lots of activities to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week.
On Wednesday some of us went to the model classroom to join in TacPac. We all felt so relaxed and regulated afterwards!
In class we were learning about our safe places and safe smells.
On Thursday we listened to Mrs Down and Mr Sutton read a sensory story called ‘the colour monster’. In this story there were 6 different coloured monsters with 6 different emotions; happy, sad, angry, afraid, calm and in love.
We all learnt how to sign the different emotions and made our faces to match the emotions. Mr Sutton then pretended to be each of the emotions with different coloured sensory materials.
Next some of us went outside to find different objects in different colours. We managed to find all our objects and colours including a grey sky, purple bike and green grass.
In class the rest of us did some glueing and sticking matching the different coloured monsters to the right emotion and making our own playdough emotion monsters!
In the afternoon we did yoga, dance and playdough gym!
What an amazing week!
