On Monday we began the day with maths. One group looked at tally charts, another group looked at pictograms and the final group looked at line graphs. After this we did some different puzzles, including word searches, crosswords and word builders. In the afternoon, we had Mrs Down join us to do a lesson in coding! We introduced ourselves to Mrs Down and told her something about ourselves. We watched Miss Clark pretend to be a robot and follow our instructions to make a jam sandwich. She took everything literally, which made it funny when our instructions weren’t clear. Then we worked in pairs and tried it ourselves. It helped us see how specific we needed to be, especially when thinking about coding.
On Tuesday, we continued working in our maths groups. After this, we got to write an acrostic poem using the words Astley Park School. We all came up with some lovely poems! In the afternoon we had PE. In PE we had a big game of rounders. This was lots of fun!
On Wednesday, we started the day with maths, continuing with the work in our groups. In the afternoon, we did our KS4 options.
On Thursday morning, we started the day looking at the housing developments we designed and had to write a pitch to sell to Julie next week. In the afternoon, we had SRE, we looked at healthy and un healthy relationships. We discussed what healthy relationships are and examples of these. We were given scenarios and had to discuss and decide whether these were healthy or unhealthy.
On Friday morning, we made our breakfast butties for staff. In the afternoon we had well being time and celebration assembly, this weeks star of the week is Ben for fantastic work in maths and supporting his friend whilst making breakfast butties. Well done Ben!
