This term, we have been learning all about the position and direction words ‘in’ ‘on’ and ‘under’. This weeks position word was ‘behind’. During the Peppa Pig story, Miss Seddon demonstrated our focus word ‘behind’ by using the different props. We all had a turn at pretending to be a mermaid and then sitting ‘behind’ the big rock. Then, we engaged with the swishing seaweed, and hid ‘behind’ it! This made us all laugh! We used our communication boards to comment on what our friends were doing. 

After the main session, we completed our ‘get busy’ timetables, that consisted of different activities to further strengthen our knowledge of position and direction words. For example, we played with the Peppa house, and practiced placing the characters ‘Suzie sheep’ ‘Peppa’ and ‘George’, ‘in’ the bath and bed and ‘under’ the table! Some of us moved onto our current focus position word ‘behind’ and could demonstrate our understanding following on from the session. Great work Chestnut class!
