Welcome to 11P’s last term at Astley Park! On Monday we headed to ASDA in the morning to do our weekly shopping for breakfast and tuck shop. We had lots of fun deciding what to buy for breakfasts and have been trying different things other than toast; our current favourite is crumpets! In the afternoon we had a lesson about relationships and what makes a healthy relationship, either between friends, family or significant others. Everyone had some really good ideas about what makes a healthy relationship and why sometimes people fall out or relationships don’t work.

On Tuesday we joined 11A in a big game of rounders; we mixed the teams up and took it in turns as batters and fielders. It was a really lovely game and everyone was super supportive, cheering each other on and with lots of ‘well done’s when it came to good hits.

We had maths on Wednesday morning, where we’ve been continuing to work on measuring and using rulers. In the afternoon we had options and we all split off to our different classes. In digital media the learners were looking at videos they had created and beginning to make a new one, in MADD they did some papier mache balloons ready for next week, in Forest School we played some nature based games in our woodland area and in Humanities we began to look at the space race.

On Thursday morning we had another maths lesson, this one working on number bonds from 10 to 100 and in the afternoon we had a lesson about online safety; we talked about what a trusted adult is and gave some examples of these. Then we talked about what kind of things were okay to share online, like our favourite food or music we liked, and what is not okay to share, like our passwords or phone numbers, because they’re private.

On Friday morning we did some Thrive with Mrs Cobham where we talked about self-care and the things we like, either when we’re feeling dysregulated or just need some cheering up. In the afternoon we had golden time and celebration assembly, a big well done to our Star of the Week Lola for some brilliant work in our lesson on online safety!
