Today in 10P we had our end of year trip to Blackpool Zoo! Everyone was really looking forward to this and we were all excited to go.
When we got there, after checking in, we headed through the school entrance and got a look at our first animals of the day, Capybaras! We made our way round some enclosures, seeing lots of different types of monkeys as well as the meerkats. We then made our way to the Wallaby Walkabout, but most of the animals were still sleeping when we went through! We had a quick look at the wolf enclosure but none of us could spot anything, so we headed on down to the Active Oceans exhibit just in time for the sea lion show. The sea lions were brilliant, balancing balls on their noses, catching rings and even doing flips in the water! All of us were very impressed and lots of us said it was our favourite part of the day.
After the show, we went to the Ape House where we got to see lots of gorillas, including a big Silverback and then we went to see the orangutans. We got a very special treat there because one of the orangutans had a little baby with her who was only a year old! It was still very small, but very cheeky and playful.
After we had lunch, and chased away lots of seagulls, we headed to the giraffes which were very cool, if a bit smelly. We then went to have a look at the big cat enclosures and got to see lions and tigers! It was nearly time for us to go but we had just enough time to visit the camels and the elephants. It was very busy up in the elephant house but everyone said how cool it was to see such big animals. It was time for us to go after the elephants, and everyone had had a great day! We had lots of sleepy people on the way back, staff included, so it was a nice quiet drive back to school ready for buses.
We hope everyone had a lovely day!
