Today we held a 2 minute silence as we thought about all those who have bravely served in wars.

We discussed why we wear poppies and learnt that red poppies help us to remember those who died during the First World War and in any war since then.

We also learnt that some people may choose to wear purple poppies as well, to remember the animals who have died in wars. We learnt that many animals, such as horses, dogs, and pigeons, were used in the First World War to help soldiers fight, move heavy items and deliver messages.

We then created our own poppy wreaths.
