Beech class have had an amazing start to summer 2. This week we started our topic of ‘Animals’.
To begin with we looked at mini beasts. We explored different tuff trays with soil, bugs, grass and tubes. We used the magnifying glass to spot the different types of bugs and then used the communication boards to say what we could see.
During adult led activities, we created spiders with our hands, used potato’s to make caterpillars, painted butterflies and worms and also made bee hives with bubble wrap.
On Thursday, we began our swimming sessions. We all transitioned amazingly and had so much fun in the pool. We can’t wait to see your confidence grow.
Our learning intentions this week has been self help and independence and understanding. We all followed visual timetables to support our dressing, put on our coats and helped to put on our swimming costumes. For our understanding, we followed our routines well, worked on our transitioning with visual support and answered who, what and where questions. We used motivating pictures from our favourite tv shows to tell our teachers who we could see. To challenge some of our learners further, we look at prepositions. We practised putting different characters on, under and in different objects. What great work!
