Welcome back 10A, hope everyone had a relaxing break is ready for our last term in Year 10. We have lots to look forward to in the summer term!

On a Tuesday morning for the next five weeks we will be visiting The Life Centre at Chorley Hospital. We will be looking different jobs and roles within the NHS. Today we did a scavenger hunt around the hospital collecting envelopes for different departments in the hospital. It was really good fun and we all got a treat for completing the hunt.
In the afternoon two nurses came to talk to the learners about their Annual Health Check and why we need to keep ourselves healthy.

On Wednesday, the learners returned to Hindley Swimming Pool for their swimming lessons again this term. In the afternoon, we looked at different ideas for enterprise. Grace and Ollie attended their last week at Brothers of Charity, they edited the photos they have been taking and put the pictures all together with music to make a video. Well done.

On Thursday morning we did maths, where we explored money, we recognised money and was able to add totals together after this we continued with our work at Chorley in bloom, where we did planting and some weeding. In the afternoon we went to Sir Tom Finney High, where we attended a careers fair, it was great to speak to people about what we could do in the future, it was also great to get lots of freebies!

On Friday, we continued with our work experience, where some of us supported other classes in the school, whilst the rest of us went through the storage outside and sorted through wellies, and garden tools. After this, we did some creative writing planning  we looked at a picture of a scientist, and we had to find different words to describe the character, the setting and the activity. In the afternoon we enjoyed golden time and then watched celebration assembly  this weeks star of the week is Aaron - For swimming this week. This week was the first time Aaron has swam without any aid. Well done, your confidence has grown. You should be proud!
